1. Agreement
These Terms govern your use of the TribeTrip mobile application and related services (“Service”). By creating an account or using TribeTrip, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
2. The Service
TribeTrip is a group trip planning tool. Features may include:
- Creating and joining trips
- Shared itineraries, activity suggestions, voting, optional RSVPs, and private personal activities
- Travel plans (flights and hotels)
- Budgeting, expenses, and payment tracking
- Packing lists, group chat, polls, and notifications
- Optional TribeTrip Plus subscription features
Features may change over time. Some features require Plus or organizer permissions.
3. Eligibility & accounts
- You must be legally able to enter a contract in your region.
- Provide accurate registration information and keep your password secure.
- You are responsible for activity under your account.
- Notify us promptly of unauthorized use.
4. Trips, roles & user content
4.1 Organizers and members
- The trip creator is the Organizer (owner) unless ownership is transferred by us/features we provide.
- Organizers may invite/remove members, manage certain trip settings, approve activity suggestions, confirm activities, manage payment links/requests, and delete the trip.
- Members may add content according to role and permissions (e.g. suggest activities, vote, chat, packing, expenses).
4.2 Your content
You retain rights to content you submit (profiles, trip plans, messages, images, expenses, etc.). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, store, display, and process that content solely to operate the Service.
You represent that you have the right to submit the content and that it does not violate law or others’ rights.
4.3 Shared vs private
- Shared trip content is visible to trip members.
- Private activities are intended to be visible only to the creator; do not rely on privacy features for illegal or harmful activity.
- Inviting someone gives them access to shared trip information.
4.4 Edit rights
As implemented in the app, editing/deleting many items (activities, expenses, packing items) is limited to the Organizer or the person who created the item. Voting, RSVP, and payment status updates may still be available to other members.
5. Payments between travelers (important)
TribeTrip’s Payment Tracker and budget tools are coordination features only.
- We do not process, hold, transfer, or guarantee peer-to-peer payments.
- “Mark as paid,” “I’ve sent payment,” and organizer “confirm received” are user-reported statuses.
- Disputes about money are between you and other travelers (or your payment app provider), not TribeTrip.
- You use third-party pay links (Venmo, Cash App, etc.) at your own risk under those providers’ terms.
6. Subscriptions (TribeTrip Plus)
- Plus may unlock features such as higher traveler capacity on trips you organize, Smart Packing, enhanced budgeting, and related benefits described in-app.
- Purchases are billed by Apple or Google under their terms.
- Pricing, renewal, and cancellation are managed in your store account settings.
- Canceling auto-renew typically keeps access until the end of the paid period.
- “Host Plus” may unlock premium capabilities for members on trips you organize while your entitlement is active; it does not transfer a personal subscription to another user outside that trip context.
- Refunds are handled under Apple/Google policies unless required otherwise by law.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, or harm others
- Post illegal, infringing, or abusive content
- Attempt to access others’ private activities or accounts without authorization
- Spam invites or abuse messaging
- Reverse engineer, disrupt, or overload the Service
- Use the Service for fraud or money-laundering schemes
- Misrepresent payment status to deceive others
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
8. Third-party services
The Service may integrate or rely on third parties (maps, stores, payment apps, cloud hosting, subscription tooling, destination imagery, flight/airport datasets). Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
- Trip plans, votes, or readiness scores are complete or accurate
- Payment statuses reflect real-world transfers
- Travel times, flights, hotels, or destinations are correct
- The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
TribeTrip is a planning tool, not a travel agency, bank, payment processor, or insurer.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TRIBETRIP AND ITS AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR TRIP COSTS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR DISPUTES BETWEEN TRAVELERS.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR PLUS IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $50, IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID US.
Some regions do not allow certain limitations; in those places, our liability is limited to the fullest extent allowed.
11. Indemnity
You agree to defend and indemnify TribeTrip against claims arising from your content, your misuse of the Service, your interactions with other travelers, or your violation of these Terms or law.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service and request account deletion. We may suspend or terminate access for violations, risk, or prolonged inactivity. Trip deletion by an Organizer permanently removes that trip’s shared data as implemented in the Service (subject to backups/legal retention).
13. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may update features and these Terms. Material changes may be communicated in-app or by email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator’s principal place of business, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Courts in that venue shall have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer laws require otherwise. Contact Support@tribetrip.ai for current venue details.
